Ilfracombe is a vibrant seaside town year-round; lively and family-friendly in summer, yet charmingly peaceful in winter. The surrounding Quayside area is rich with independent shops, galleries, restaurants, and bars to explore. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the immediate access to the South West Coast Path, offering breathtaking cliff-top views, as well as nearby activities including the Tarka Cycle Trail, local golf courses, fishing, riding, and walking. With the closest beach just 175 yards away and bars, shops, pubs and restaurant 50 yards away, this is a fantastic location for a seaside getaway.
However if you choose to travel a little further a field, Lynton to Lynmouth cliff railway makes for an excellent day out. At Croyde, Saunton and Woolacombe you will find some of the best and cleanest surf beaches in the country, as well as many smaller coves and bays. Exmoor is only a short distance away, and on a clear day the views can be spectacular.
